BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University track & field program welcomed the women's squad to the party for the first time this year as both genders competed together at the KMS Invitational.

Devilettes' Top Performers:
Â
- Nyla Snead and Aniyah Thomas tied for the top finish on the women's side as Snead went for a PR in the 60m hurdles (9.62) while Thomas logged a 12.40m weight throw, both good enough to be runners-up.
- The latter also placed sixth in the shot put via a 9.85-meter toss.Â

- Jasmine Mackey joined Thomas regarding multiple top-six placements, earning bronze with a 2:29.68 time during the 800 meters whereas she came in sixth for the mile at 6:01.52.

- Cayden Fluellen wound up with seventh on an 8.13-second run in the 60-meter dash while both Tori Carter (400m – 1:07.45) and Alaya Rhodes (high jump – 1.40m) rounded out the proverbial scoring at eighth in their respective events.

Delta Devils' Top Performers:

- The duo of Allen Jenkins (PR) and Henry Espy made a statement as the teammates both landed in the top-five for the long jump, recording distances of 6.61m (third) and 6.44m (fifth), respectively.
- Espy jumped high to go along with far, tallying sixth in the high jump at 1.85 meters.Â

- Malachi Finley rounded out the track athletes on the men's side, finishing fifth with a time of 51.12 during the 400m.

- Valley will take the following two weekends off before returning to Magic City for a pair of UAB-hosted events; Green & Gold Invitational (February 6) and UAB Invitational (February 7).
