BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University track & field program saw seven runners achieve new personal benchmarks whereas a trio of Devilettes set new individual field records for themselves in the first of two days in Birmingham.
Â
The Basics:Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Devilettes' Top Performers:
Â
- Both Madison Conley as well as Aniyah Moore performed well enough for PRs, each doing so in the long jump with distances of 4.02m and 3.84m, respectively.
Â
- Brooklyn Brunt was the other female personal record breaker, launching the shot put 7.34 meters away.
Â
- Tori Carter was the single Devilette to PR in a running event, producing a mark of 1:05.81 during the 400m.
Â
- Aniyah Thomas notched a season-best, competing in the weight throw courtesy of a 13.07m toss.
Â
Delta Devils' Top Performers:
Â
- Despite not being a personal record, Allen Jenkins deserves recognition for being the only top-ten finish for the Delta Devils / Devilettes, sneaking into the tenth spot via a 6.51 mark in the long jump.
Â
- Not one, not two, but three different men set the bar higher with their fastest times ran in the 200-meter dash as Malachi Finley led the group at 23.39, followed by John Eubanks with 23.58, then Justus Snapp's 25.34 seconds.
Â
Â
- Timothy Rotich ran by far the longest time of any personal-best performance on Friday, competing in the mile and crossing the finish line after 4:43.66.
Â
Next:
Â
- Head Coach Michael Snapp and his squad remain in the Magic City, returning to compete in the UAB Invitational on Saturday as their final regular season meet before the SWAC Indoor Championships from February 21-22.
