Women’s Track & Field Competes At SWAC Outdoor Championships

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's track & field program called Baton Rouge over the last three days and came away with some positive takeaways during its final event of the year.

Women's Top Performers:
 
  • Nyla Snead was the lone point scorer for the Green and White, grabbing the eighth spot in the heptathlon thanks in large part to her 15.12-second 100m hurdles (fourth) as well as seventh place showings regarding both the long jump (4.88m) and javelin (19.17m).
 
  • The other two individuals to land amongst the top-ten were Poetrie Dace's heptathlon score of 2,842 and Alaya Rhodes' high jump measuring 1.52 meters.
 
  • A pair of Delta Devils registered personal records with Janet Cheboi posting a new fastest time in the 5000m (21:04.52) whereas Brooklyn Brunt tossed the shot put her furthest distance yet (8.50m).
