ITTA BENA, Miss. – Next on this year's countdown of Mississippi Valley State's 15 most memorable individual moments of the 2021-22 athletic calendar is moment number nine as freshman
Devin Gordon went unconscious from the floor against Alabama A&M, blowing up for nine three-pointers and 32 points, both single-season highs for Gordon and all Delta Devils players.
The Powder Springs, Georgia native shot a blistering 47.4% from behind the arc (9-of-19) while connecting on half of his shots overall (11-for-22) to become the first Valley student-athlete in five seasons to drop at least 25 points off the bench, eventually leading to his first career SWAC Impact Player of the Week on January 12.
The sharpshooting guard led the team with a 34.2% three-point percentage (41-for-120) while averaging 11.2 points and 2.9 boards per game as well as a 38.6% field-goal percentage, 11 assists, nine steals, and four blocks.
